It is designed to keep the legs snug and the shoulders together while giving him the freedom to do all the movements required in climbing. There are slim chances to turn upside down because the harness is tied at a higher level which will lead to a lower gravity center and the feet and waists will swing down in a natural way. This type of harness is usually suited for climbing beginners. It if the best choice if you want to take your kid climbing with you for the first time.
